There are several different types of water heaters available in Northern Colorado and the surrounding areas. However, to keep it short, we’ll only discuss the two most common types of water heaters: tankless and tanked. Let’s break them down:

water heater replacement

Conventional (Tanked) Water Heaters
Conventional (tanked) water heaters are, by far, the most common type. They heat water using natural gas, propane, or electricity and then store that hot water in a tank for later use. Tanked water heaters come in a variety of makes, models, sizes, and efficiency ratings. They are a great fit in any home or business that uses more than 40 gallons of hot water daily.

Tankless Water Heaters
Tankless water heaters are the second most common type of water heaters in Denver. They, like their tanked counterparts, heat water using natural gas, propane, or electricity. However, unlike conventional water heaters, tankless heaters don’t store hot water in a tank for later use. Instead, they heat water on an instantaneous and on-demand basis. Unfortunately, due to their on-demand nature, we only recommend them in homes and businesses that either use fewer than 40 gallons of hot water daily or as a secondary heater for specific tasks (like instant hot water for tea and coffee).

If you’d like to learn more about the several other types of water heaters available in the area, then feel free to contact us. We’d be more than happy to discuss your water heater options with you.
